I Challenge Thee!! (muahahaha…)
So a few challenges to talk about here. Some that others have come up with and some that I would like to see… and continue.
#1.) I will be taking part in the Disney Bound Challenge, cuz who doesn’t love Disney!?!?!
#2.) I will be continuing the SoSL Fantasy Blogger Challenge, cuz dammit it was fun.
#3.) I will be STARTING the Blogger Hero Challenge. I want to see your tributes to your favorite superheroes!!! There really isn’t much in the way of rules. I want to see your homages to your favorite superheroes. That can be a direct approach, i.e. Catwoman in a catsuit, or an “inspired by” approach, i.e. inspiration from a certain character! I’m not going to be making time constraints about when these will get done, because that ruins all the spontaneity of the challenge. I’ll do this by making a list of ten at a time. Do them in whatever order you want!! Then, at some point, we’ll make another ten. Here’s the first list:

Only a cat of a different coat…
Game of Thrones wrapped up it’s third season this week and it was undoubtedly my favorite season so far! I love not knowing which of my favorite characters might die next – though I plan to take time out and read the books this summer. June is in full swing and you know that means that all the events have restarted and you can find lots of goodies in FaMESHed, We <3 Roleplay, and Collabor88. This look is centered around the hair that I found at FaMESHed, I am really in love with it.
Mandala has released more new jewelry and it is gorgeous! Their summer collection is definitely full of must have pieces for roleplayers. I haven’t worn a Belleza skin in sometime but I fell in love with the Ava Best Buy 1 for June. I missed the cleavage tattoo that Belleza includes with their skins. This an option I’d really love to have with Glam Affair, I am not always wearing Lolas and I like being able to have cleavage now and again!

Yes, yes, I know. You’re sick of me talking about the.Plastik. Get over it. The place is amazing. For this week’s FLF, owner/designer Aikea Reiko has released not one, but two HUGE sets of gorgeous clothes. And when I say huge, I’m talking like 150 pieces in one set for L$50!!!! And on top of that, there’s an amazing set of Astrali skins in Stratus tones for L$50 as well. ON TOP OF THAT, she stuffs these folders chock full of eyes, and all kinds of other goodies. Holy hell. What would I wish for??
1. That I could create.
I’m with Berry on this one. More than anything else, I wish I could build in SL the things that pop into my head on a daily basis. I feel like an artist without a paintbrush. So any designers out there looking for inspiration, you can get it for free here.
2. That I had a better system so I could use shadows.
It’s pretty much undeniably true that the best pics come from the best pc’s. We all know how glitchy SL is. So if you don’t have the system to push it, SL pics can be hard to get.
3. That I could live at The.Plastik and be their mascot.
What?! It’s MY wishes dammit!!! I can be the Plastik fairy godmother if I want to!

I am absolutely in love with the new textures on Exile hair. I think I have bought nearly every hair that’s come out since then. Shh! Don’t tell. I am almost caught up in my memes, I won’t be doing the social media one because I don’t really have any active social media with SL other than Plurk . Feel free to add me there if you are so inclined I could use more friends. I do not really count Flickr as social media but I have one, here. These facts are much harder to come up with since I’ve already shared so much!
My SL Fact #1:
I remember Second Life before mesh, flexi prims, sculpties. When I joined back in 2005, PRIM hair was just becoming a big thing. Second Life has come a long, long way and I am blessed to have seen the journey first hand.
My SL Fact #2:
I have roleplayed many genres within Second Life from Ancient Rome, to Gor, to vampire, to high fantasy. I have created many characters, stories, and memories.
My SL Fact #3:
I met my real life husband in Second Life. He lost in an opposing raid, I drug him into the tavern. He was such a gentleman in that roleplay. <3
My SL Fact #4:
Of all games and platforms I have tried out online Second Life is the one I have returned to and stayed with the longest. I keep telling myself I will hang up my hat but I find myself missing it when I am away. There is just too much creativity.
My SL Fact #5:
I tried the Second Life modeling thing but it wasn’t for me.

I have alternate characters older than most people’s main characters. Sad, so sad!

What made you choose this name? Roewan has been the name I always wanted in RL. I just love it. And Kline I got from my RL friend Billy Cline who was killed in an accident when we were teenagers. Miss him.

A new edition of the We <3 Roleplay event will be opening June 4th but I couldn’t resist blogging some more pieces that I put together from the first round. I am still trying to think of what to do for my Teach Me Something meme, perhaps a Marketplace shopping tutorial?
- Who did you speak to last inworld today? Reece Morane
- Who has taught you most about SL? Sterling Hermes, probably life in general. Wise man.
- Who do you turn to for help? It depends on what I need help with. My life lines would have to be Sterling Hermes, Missy Lysette, Reece Morane, Serenity Lovenkraft, and Xanadue Moorsider (each for different things).
- Who is the most entertaining person on your friend list? Definitely, Missy Lysette.
- Do you speak to your SL friends outside of SL? I do, a few I text or chat to on Skype.
- Are you part of a community or family inworld? I’m not part of a current group in Second Life however I consider most of my close friends like family. I have been part of many communities and I take a piece of each of them with me.
- Are you usually around a lot of people or do you spend most of your time alone inworld? I spend time with my partner mostly, we visit with a few friends when time permits.
I was super excited when I woke up and seen that Tuli Asturias had released some vampire teeth. I was just thinking of looking for a good set to go with this outfit, she read my mind. The new summer collection for Mandala is out and it is jaw-dropping! I love Mandala’s jewelry and when I saw these pieces I wanted them all instantly. This fountain behind me is from aisling – I am excited to see what they will have for the next We <3 Roleplay !

I went to bed last night with a clear picture in my mind of what I wanted to blog. I woke up this morning and found that Exile had released new hair and that Tuli had released several new sets of prim teeth! GAH! There is also a lovely new dress from Sweet Lies. I love the accessories that come with the dress and it seemed to be a perfect fit with one of the new Exile hairs!
I was really sad to read that Glitterati is closing. Katey Coppola has definitely been an inspiration to me. She is having a big sale to close out her store. I have done a few of her tutorials on her YouTube channel in an effort to improve my photography. Speaking of photography, I’ve been tinkering around with my sizes and settings so let me know what you think. Tips are always greatly appreciated.

Why do I blog?
I’ve been reading Berry’s Memes over the past few weeks because the woman amazes me with her blog. I’m sure I’m not the only one that feels this way lol. She’s the one blogger that other bloggers would probably build a statue of and sacrifice review copies to for more readers or better photos. 
I love the memes and I think it’s a great way for us to get to know the bloggers out there and their perspectives. Here’s my latest contribution to the blogger memes!
- How long have you been blogging? Since July 2008 (Holy. Shit.)
- Why did you start blogging? A long time ago, I fell in love with the Second Life and its ability to allow artists to create absolutely anything their minds could fathom. I watched SL grow and become filled with beautiful things that I could never have seen in RL. And my favorite was always RP. The ability to explore another facet of yourself and to express yourself appearancewise in ways that aren’t possible in RL. SL gave me wings one day and demon horns the next. I was hooked and I wanted to share it.
- How many times a week do you post an entry? I try to post once a week at least, but as we all know RL comes first and sometimes I just won’t allow it.
- How many different blogs do you read on a regular basis? A handful on a regular basis, but I love to browse tons of different blogs. If I read it over and over again, it’s listed on blogs we love or blogs I follow.
- Do you comment on other people’s blogs? I try to, yes.
- Do you keep track of how many visitors you have? All the friggin’ time. I log in several times a day to see if anyone has dropped by! It’s silly!!
- Did you ever regret a post that you wrote? Absolutely never. Oh, I’ve certainly received flack over some things that I’ve written, but I won’t ever insult my readers by playing he said she said games, posting crap, or being a bigot. It just won’t happen.
- Do you think your readers have a true sense of who you are based on your blog? Yes I do.
- Do you blog under your real name? No, I blog under my avatar name, Roewan Kline.
- Are there topics that you would never blog about? Yes, I’ve been approached several times over the years about things that I blog, mainly people talking crap about another person’s work, but if I don’t think it has some merit, I don’t post it, and I’ll never be ugly or critical about things that I can’t even do. So, for future reference, never approach me and ask me to tear someone else down. It won’t happen.
- What is the theme/topic of your blog? Roleplay Fashion/Sims/etc.
- Do you have more than one blog? If so, why? No I don’t, I’m too enslaved to this one lol!
- What have you found to be the benefits of blogging?
I meet the most amazing, talented people on the grid. I can’t name them all, but people like ILYUSHIN TZEDEK (I love this murf!!), Solange Cerveau, Surreal LeShelle, Evangeline Miles, Talyn Barrett, Songfeather Starr, Delora Starbrook, Celadori Sakai, Tyr Rozenblum, Etalena Lane, Sabina Takakura, Vaelian, Cymoril Lightfoot, and so so many others (forgive me if I didn’t say your name here), and I have been fortunate enough to be exposed to their art and their unique ways of thinking, and sometimes even asked for my opinion, which is a truly amazing experience. I also get to meet other bloggers and enjoy their art, which I love just as much. (Strawberry, Beks, Alura, etc.!) - So, why do you continue to blog? Because I live in a podunk town with the world a thousand miles away from me. But here, I can explore, I can experience, and with this blog I can reach out and hopefully spread my love of art to someone else who feels just like me. ART IS LIFE. And it’s something we must cultivate if we want it to thrive.
As for the clothing in this pic, I wanted to showcase something by Soedara. They have just beautiful clothing there, and it’s nice to see a new silk maker out in SL and holding it’s own with the big dogs! It’s needless to say that the game runners in the silk business have certainly changed and it’s getting harder and harder to find sexy silks out there, but people like Soedara are still amazing us with their sexy designs! And by the way if you haven’t checked into EXXESS lately, then you should. The woman is churning out some badass mesh hair!! See credits!
